A member of Ramsay Health Care Limited since July, 2001, Berkeley Vale Private Hospital (BVPH) has 80 beds and provides services for rehabilitation, surgical, day surgical, medical patients and a day psychiatric program.
Support facilities include four operating theatres, x-ray department, on-site hydrotherapy pool and a variety of allied health services.
A Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine directs rehabilitation services. Programs are provided for neurological, musculo-skeletal, orthopaedic, amputee and other disabling conditions. Some of these programs are designed for day patients.
Almost every surgical discipline available on the Central Coast is represented at BVPH including orthopaedics, urology, general surgery, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, oral and maxillofacial, dental, ENT, gynaecology, IVF services, vascular and paediatric surgery.
The majority of medical patients are admitted by local general practitioners. Palliative Care patients are also cared for by their admitting general practitioners. The Central Coast Area Health Service Palliative Care Team can be consulted as required. |

** Berkeley Vale Private Hospital History **
Berkeley Vale Private Hospital is the newest private hospital on the Central Coast, being opened officially in August, 1990.
It was the first private hospital on the Central Coast to establish a comprehensive rehabilitation service which has been approved by all the health funds, insurance companies, Workcover and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. It is also the only local private hospital with a hydrotherapy pool.
The hospital is also accredited by the independent Australian Council on Health Care Standards until November, 2004 |
